Absolutely AMAZING day!
Oh my goodness, Patriots Point was an absolute blast! I visited with my family and we did the USS Yorktown Admission and the Flight Simulator Experience, and it was just fantastic. The kids loved the simulator so much. Getting to walk on the flight deck felt so real, like I was back in time. We will definitely be coming back for more, and I'm telling all my friends about it!
Good visit, some minor issues
I bought tickets for USS Yorktown Admission and the USS Laffey Tour online a week before our visit. The website was pretty straightforward for booking, though it wasn't immediately clear where to find information about the accessibility of all exhibits. We arrived and pickup was easy, just showed my phone. The Yorktown itself was incredible, very well-maintained, and the Flight Deck Access was a highlight. We spent about 4 hours exploring. The USS Laffey tour was engaging but felt a bit cramped at times, which is to be expected for a destroyer. I had a question about parking fees after our visit and called customer support; they were helpful and clarified everything quickly. Overall, the quality of the exhibits and the historical information provided was excellent. Just wish the online information for mobility access was a bit more prominent for planning purposes.
Worth the visit.
Visited USS Yorktown. Admission process was smooth. Lots to see, spent a few hours. Exhibits were good. Parking was easy. Would recommend.
Cool ships and stuff
My family and I went to Patriots Point last month. We just got the basic USS Yorktown Admission. It was really cool walking around the big ship, felt like a movie set or something. My son especially liked the old planes on the deck. It was a hot day, but there were some spots to cool off. Overall, it was a pretty neat way to spend an afternoon.
Good value for a day out
I was looking for something affordable to do in Charleston. I purchased the USS Yorktown Admission and used my student discount, which saved me a few bucks. It made the overall cost feel really reasonable for how much there was to see. Parking wasn't free, but the ticket price plus the discount made it worth it. I spent a good few hours exploring and felt like I got my money's worth.
Consistent great experience
This was my third time visiting Patriots Point, and I always get the Museum Membership. It's such a great value, especially if you plan to go more than once a year. This trip, we focused on the USS Clamagore Submarine Exhibit, which I hadn't spent much time on before. Just like my previous visits, everything was well-organized, clean, and the staff were friendly. The exhibits are always educational and well-presented. It's reliably a good day out, and I appreciate that the quality hasn't dropped over the years. That's why I keep coming back.

Thinking of taking the family here next month, probably a weekend. How long does it usually take to see everything, like the carrier and the sub?
How does this compare to the USS North Carolina? We've been to that one already.
Is it worth paying for the extra VIP tour, or is the regular entry good enough to see everything?
do they do free admission for veterans on memorial day? want to take my dad but tickets add up.
